Regular physical exercise can enhance your balance and strength, reduces pain from arthritis or other aging issues, helps you to maintain a healthy weight, improves your confidence and mental health, and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and strokes. Through the Walk With Ease program, CCHD can help you stay committed to increasing your physical activity levels and living a healthier lifestyle in 2023!

No matter if you need relief from arthritis pain or just want to be more active, the six week Walk With Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life. The program includes a guidebook and a walking schedule to get you safely moving toward better health.

Comprehensive studies demonstrate that Walk With Ease is proven to:

  • Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis

Program Details

The Walk With Ease program is designed to help make improvements that are meaningful and achievable for each individual participant.

After registering, you will complete a short questionnaire and self-test to establish your baseline physical activity levels, confidence to exercise, pain and fatigue levels, and physical limitations. You will also be asked to make a commitment to yourself, to encourage you to hold yourself accountable and continue to live a healthier lifestyle for long after the program's end date.

Everyone has different goals and starting points. Program participants will develop a personalized plan to take regular walks and make other healthy lifestyle improvements throughout the program duration and beyond. Participants will receive weekly emails with information on walking safely, stretching to safely improve flexibility and avoid injury, and other healthy lifestyle tips.

Participants may download a walking journal to help track their progress each week, if desired. At the end of the 6-week program, a small gift will be awarded to the participant who logs the most miles walked, as well as to the participant who shows the most improvement!
